Founded in 2002, Saphyr was already born with an enormous legacy inherited from one of the Mall Industry pioneers in Brazil, Donald Stewart Jr., a founder of the Brazilian Council of Shopping Centers, which opened the first Shopping Center in Brazil with the standards seal ABRASCE, the Conjunto Nacional Brasilia, and he participated in the creation of other successful enterprises during his 50 years in ECISA, like the NorteShopping (RJ), Shopping Recife (PE) and Shopping Villa-Lobos (SP).
The ECISA was one of the pioneers companies in the Shopping Center Industry in Brazil and throughout the 80s and 90s was consolidated as a major market players. Its strength and expression made it possible that it was the genesis of BR Malls.
Paulo Stewart took over his father’s entrepreneurial vision and knew how to combine their expertise to expand their operation areas. Today, Saphyr is a company that offers complete solutions for Shopping Centers with experience in developing more than 30 projects and shopping malls all over Brazil, totaling more than 10 million of ft2 of GLA (Gross Leasable Area).
